Sound System Services Ltd was established in 1987.

Our aim is to offer personal “hands on” service based on experience and a first hand knowledge of the live music industry.

Co founder of the company, Paul Matthews gained valuable background knowledge working in the electronics industry before becoming a professional musician in 1978 and working in some of Christchurch’s leading bands. 20 years later, while still playing in live bands, Paul has moved to the other side of the mixing console and now works as a sound technician mixing live sound for Christchurch’s only cabaret - Twiggers, using state of the art equipment supplied and installed by Sound System Services.
This working knowledge is invaluable when informing and advising our clients about the vast range of sound and lighting equipment available today.

Sound System Services specialises in selling and installing professional equipment with the emphasis on getting the right product to meet each clients needs. All sales are personally handled by Paul and extensive backup and advice are readily available.

Sound System Services also has sound equipment available for hire.

We specialise in small systems for bands, parties and conferences, again all equipment is matched to the requirements of each customer. Paul has attained certificates of competency in service safety inspection and testing of electrical appliances and equipment. Each electrical item is tested for compliance before and after it is returned from hire, therefore insuring equipment is in a safe condition.

The third branch of Sound System Services incorporates the repair of speakers - (Professional.) All repairs are handled with care and given a 100% guarantee on the workmanship. Free, no obligation quotes are available at any time. Most repairs are done in a matter of days and if there should be a delay in obtaining a part the customer is kept informed at all times. Our prices are realistic, sometimes saving the customer hundreds of dollars by not having to replace speakers which may appear to be unrepairable.
